Footnotes

The artist Lahora Singh worked in the famous artists' quarter of Lahore in Gumti Bazaar (along with Abdur Rehman Chughtai). At the time of Partition his studio was burned down during the disturbances, and most of his works were lost, making his paintings rare today.

He was commissioned by many of the Maharajahs of the time, and examples of his surviving paintings are in the Patiala Museum and in the private collections of the princely states, including Kapurthala.
