The White Star Line's RMS Olympic was one of the most famous ocean liners of its time, known for its association with Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was part of the Olympic-class trio, along with the Titanic and Britannic, all constructed by Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The ship was launched on 20 October 1910.
RMS Olympic had a successful career serving as a passenger liner and troopship during World War I. Its sister ship, Titanic, is more well-known due to its tragic sinking, but Olympic holds a special place in maritime history. The ship is depicted here with the Belfast Corporation Electricity Supply Station in the foreground, both are a testament to the city's shipbuilding and engineering expertise during that era.
