Colored engravings on varnished paper laid down on linen and affixed to two wooden dowels for hanging, one titled "Chart of Narraganset [sic] Bay Surveyed in 1832 by Capt. Alex. S. Wadsworth, Lieut. Thos. R. Gedney, Charles Wilkes Jr., & Geo. S. Blake of the U.S. Navy by order of the Honr. Levi Woodbury, Secretary of the Navy" and the other titled "New Map of that Portion of North America Exhibiting the United States and Territories, the Canadas, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Mexico, also Central America and the West India Islands," published in 1853 by Jacob Monk, Baltimore, Maryland, largest, 160cm wide, 147cm high, (63in wide, 58 1/2in high).
