Chippendale-style Mahogany Armchair,
Wide armchair with serpentine eared crest rail and elaborate ribbon and tassel pierced splat mounted in gadrooned shoe, stop-fluted stiles form raking saber legs beneath trapezoidal seat rail, supported in front by cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet, the slip-seat upholstered with tapestry stitching signed M.H.G., probably for Margaret Hazard Goddard (1886-1969), 66cm wide, 66cm deep, 101cm high (26in wide, 26in deep, 40 1/2in high).
