Two Inlaid Walnut Side Chairs,
Europe, 18th century.
One chair with marquetry decoration on crest, stiles, seat rail, and front legs, with additional mother of pearl elements in the splat, the front cabriole legs terminating in hoof feet; the second chair with tall serpentine crest, vasiform splat and trifid ball and claw feet on front cabriole legs, largest, 50cm wide, 43cm deep, 106cm high (20 3/4in wide, 17in deep, 42 1/2in high).
