Samuel Vernon (1683-1737), Newport, Rhode Island, early 18th century.
Raised bowl with everted straight rim and kick base, soldered to a cast geometrical handle engraved "H / I E / 1751", hallmarked "SV" in well and under handle, weighing approx. 8.65 Troy oz., 17cm wide, 12cm deep, 5cm high (7 3/4in wide, 5 1/2in deep, 2in high).
