Dial: Silvered, applied block hour markers to black surround, red 1/5th second divisions, sunken engine turned black subsidiary dials at 3, 6 and 9 for seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour recording, polished baton hands with luminous inserts, white tipped centre chronograph hand
Case: Brushed and polished tonneau form, screw down back, screw down crown flanked by twin pushers, fixed bezel with black calibrated insert, inside back stamped CRS, No.1765272
Strap/Bracelet: Fitted folded Oyster link No.7835, end links stamped 271

Footnotes

Produced between 1966 and 1969, the reference 6241 is recognizable with the smooth pushers and the black epoxy bezel graduated 50-200 units per hour. Experts agree that approximately 2300 copies were produced in stainless steel – approximately 700 in gold – and only a very small number with 'Paul Newman' three colours dials/

First appearing in the early 1960s, this 'exotic' dial manufactured by Singer was renamed the 'Paul Newman' by collectors after the American actor wore the watch in promotional posters for the film 'Winning' and throughout his private life.
By sinking the subsidiary dials and outer scale within the opaque black dial background, the dial achieves an unusual three-dimensionality and an instantly recognisable look.
Arguably no other watch has ever captured the imagination of the collector's world in the same way that the Paul Newman Rolex Daytona has. In recent years this model in all its different incarnations has built up an almost mythical reputation. With its iconic design and the photos on Paul Newman's wrist the exotic Daytona dial truly represents the dream of watch collecting.
