In hoc volumine haec continentur. Aurelii Cornelii Celsi medicinae libri VIII ... Quinti Sereni liber de medicina. Venice: Heirs of Aldus the Elder, 1528.
4to (205 x 135 mm). Aldine device on title page and verso of final leaf, spaces for capital initials with guide letters. 19th century calf decorated in blind, red morocco lettering piece on spine. Rubbed, worming through binding (only), erased ownership markings on title, margins slightly trimmed, scattered dampstaining.
Provenance: Jan Kok, 1899-1982, Dutch pharmacist and professor at University of Amsterdam (bookplate).

One of the earliest Roman medical works, in the first and only edition from the Aldine press, containing the poem "De mediana" by Quintus Serenus. The first edition, published in Florence in 1478 was among the first printed medical texts.
