An early 18th century ebonised table clock with pull quarter repeat

The inverted bell top case surmounted by a cast handle with four turned finials over a moulded top and arched glazed side panels to a moulded base and block feet.
The 7.5inch arched brass dial set with a broad subsidiary date dial intersecting the top of the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half-quarter marks, minute band and inner quarter hour track, signed between 25 and 35 Chr Gould London, the finely matted centre with wide mock pendulum aperture, all framed by scrolled and mask spandrels, with blued steel hands, a strike/silent lever set at '55'. The twin gut fusee movement with six knopped and finned pillars, knife-edge verge escapement, and rack striking on a bell. The quarters repeated on demand, sounding on six bells and hammers. The back plate richly engraved with a symmetrical pattern of vines and flowers. Ticking, striking and repeating, with two case keys and one crank key. 47 cms (18.5 ins) high
