A mid 19th century French mystery clock

Robert Houdin and Richond, Paris 'First Series'
The gilt bezel with foliate c-scroll support resting on a large urn, flanked by two mythical creatures, on a platform over a waisted base with Atlas support, on an elaborately moulded base with additional beaded wood plinth. The 4.5 inch clear glass Roman dial with internal minute track divided to the nearest 4 minutes, signed Robert-Houdin Paris, below the single cast brass gilt arrow hand. The twin spring barrel movement with silk suspension, anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking, the front plate stamped Richond FT A Paris, the backplate stamped Houdin. With pendulum and winding key.
