A late 18th century ebonised musical table clock with six tune selection

The bell top case surmounted by a brass handle and moulded cornice over chamfered front corners and glazed back door, arched glazed sides and front door, with upper quadrant brass frets, both doors with brass escutcheons on a moulded base and block feet. The 7.75 inch silvered Roman and Arabic dial with engraved floral spandrels and floral boughs to the centre, and geometric brass hands, the arch signed William Jones London, edged with six song choices comprising: Changes, Paddy Wack, Jigg, Kissing Me, Catches & Glees, Dance.
The twin gut fusee movement with shaped, footed plates united by four knopped pillars, wound from the rear, the wheels with delicate crossings out, and knife-edge verge escapement; rack striking the hours on a bell and playing the tunes on a run of eight graduated bells and hammers, the backplate with floral engraving repeated on the apron, brackets and fly cock. Striking and repeating, together with winding key and (detached) foot. 56cms (22ins) high
