A good 19th century marble and ormolu mantel clock

Hermant, Paris No. 512
The case surmounted by a putto, gesturing towards a dreaming young woman to the left of the floral mounted clock, another putto nervously peering out from the right, a quiver and bow at his feet, the bow fronted base with sunflower mounts flanking a central panel depicting cherubs fanning the flames of love, the whole supported on five knurled feet, on an associated elliptical green velvet plinth.

The twin spring barrel movement with anchor escapement, the shaped back plate stamped along the bottom edge 512. Ticking and striking on a bell with a winding key. 32cms (12.5ins) high
