The flat-backed youth is depicted wearing an Egyptian style wig. This Egyptianising influence can also be seen in two limestone busts of musicians in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, cf. V. Karageorghis, Ancient Art from Cyprus, the Cesnola Collection, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2000, pp. 132-133, nos. 198-9.
