Gifted to the current owners mother by Nora Majekodunmi:
A private collection.

Nora Majekodunmi (nee McLaughlin) was Irish born and in 1944 moved to Nigeria where she married Dr. Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi later the Federal Minister of Health 1960-66.

As Chief (Mrs) Nora Majekodumni she was a pivotal and important figure in Lagos art circles in the 1960s and was appointed to the selection committee for the important Nigerian Art Exhibition 1960 that formed part of the independent celebrations of that year. She was a strong supporter and patron of the Zaria Art Society.

The influence of the instruction of Yusuf Grillo can be clearly seen in the above work.
