A PAIR OF COPPER ALLOY PALANQUIN HOOKS
Cambodia, Angkor Period, mid 12th century
The hooks feature a wide collar with flared tips surmounted by a lotus bud and curling lotus petals over a highly stylised curving vine hook, stands. 25cm (9 7/8in) high. (4).

These hooks are preserved with a superb green patina including traces azurite. Compare with an example in M.L.Zeffreys, N.S.Zefferys, and J.Stone, Heaven and Empire: Khmer Bronzes from the 9th to 15th Centuries, 2001, no.59.
