AN ARCHAIC GILT-BRONZE OPENWORK 'TWO DEER' PLAQUE
Ordos, circa 2nd-1st century BC
The rectangular plaque gilt and decorated with a pair of deer with almond-shaped eyes, their necks crossing, amidst pierced foliage, all within a rectangular rope-twist border. 10.6cm (4 1/8in) wide x 6.3cm (2 1/2in) high.
