A Meissen large chocolate cup, cover and stand, circa 1760

Painted with Watteauesque vignettes of elegant figures in landscapes, the cup with a scene of two ladies attended by a Harlequin, surrounded by scattered flower sprays, gilt scrollwork borders to the rims, the cup with branch handles and leaf and flower terminals and the cover applied with a flower finial, the cup: 13.4cm high, the stand: 17.6cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 35 and impressed numeral (minor chips) (3)
