A pair of Meissen yellow-ground Augustus Rex vases, circa 1735-40

Of baluster from, reserved on each side with a shaped quatrefoil panel edged in gilt and brown, superbly painted with a battle scene, probably after an engraving by Georg Philipp Rugendas or Johann Andreas Thelott, the necks painted with indianische Blumen, 22.5cm high, AR monograms in underglaze-blue, incised x (lacking covers, restoration to sides where mounts were removed) (2)
