A Meissen oval sugar box and cover, circa 1723-24
Painted on each side and of the cover with a Chinoiserie scene, on the sides withing a gilt scroll- and strapwork cartouche filled with Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red scrollwork, each end with a spray of indianische Blumen, gilt scrollwork border to the rim of the cover 12cm across, K.P.M. and crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, both with gilt numeral 65.
