A Meissen coffee pot and cover, circa 1723-24
Each side painted with a Chinoiserie scene within a gilt quatrelobe scroll- and strapwork cartouches filled with Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red scrollwork, the front, back and handle painted with indianische Blumen and insects, all below a gilt scrollwork border to the rim, the footrim gilt, the cover with a single seated figure flanked by objects, flowers and animals, 22cm high, both with gilt numeral 65. (some wear to gilding around edge of rim of cover) (2)
