A pair of Meissen two-handled beakers and saucers, circa 1730

Superbly painted with harbour, estuary and landscape scenes in gilt quatrelobe cartouches edged with iron-red and purple scrollwork, the sides of the beakers with indianische Blumen and the handles gilt, gilt scrollwork borders to the rims, the beakers: 7.5cm high; the saucers: 14cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue (beakers) and blue enamel (saucers), gilt numeral 5. to all (some narrow flaking around edges of beaker rims) (4)
