A large Italian 18th century japanned and parcel gilt bureau cabinet

almost certainly Venetian, the glazing to the doors of a later date or the doors probably later replacements
Decorated with assorted figures, pagodas, wild animals, exotic birds, trees, plants, flowers and rivers within rural landscapes, the arched and shaped pediment with a twin S-scroll form and scrolled acanthus carved cornice centred by a shell and surmounted with a foliate spray cresting, above three shaped glazed panelled doors each within an ogee moulded and floral decorated surround, enclosing ten later shaped display shelves, over a hinged fall enclosing two short drawers, two pigeon holes and two compartments, with two short and three long drawers below, on a plinth base terminating in splayed squat volute scrolled front feet, the doors probably originally inset with mirror glass or 'lacca' panels, 132cm wide x 67cm deep x 277cm high, (51 1/2in wide x 26in deep x 109in high)
