Monumental volume with 240 portraits spanning the photographer's 40-year career. The edition was offered with 4 alternative dust-jackets featuring Keith Haring, David Byrne (this copy), Patti Smith and Whoopi Goldberg.

The supplementary volume contains essays by Leibovitz, Graydon Carter, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Paul Roth, with reduced size images and descriptions of the subjects in English, French and German.
