Witten in a ground-breaking first person narrative style, Charlotte Brontë's powerful novel, was something completely new in Victorian fiction, dealing with topics such as class, sexuality, religion, and feminism, its eponymous heroine a woman confronting men on equal terms.

This copy has all the flaws listed in Smith except for those on p.244 and 307 in volume three.
