A SILHOUETTE AGATE 'BIRD AND LOTUS' SNUFF BOTTLE
19th century
Of flattened form, with a flat lip and an oval foot rim, the natural inclusions finely carved to resemble two birds beside a gnarled rock, the reverse left plain, stopper, box. 7cm (2 3/4in) high. (2).

鼻烟壺扁壺形，直口，橢圓形圈足。壺體一面巧妙的利用材質本身的黑色斑塊巧雕一隻水鳥站於荷葉旁，另一面光素無紋，天然紋理宛如水中隨流飄動的水草，別有意境。參考一件大小相近的清宮舊藏瑪瑙巧作荷葉水鳥圖鼻烟壺，見《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集：鼻烟壺》，北京，2003年，頁171，圖版268。
