AN ARCHAISTIC BLUE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
Qianlong seal mark and of the period
Of slightly flattened baluster form, supported on a short oval foot rim, the exterior with archaistic design of taotie masks between rope-twist bands, upright lappets around the foot, scrolling acanthus leaves around the shoulder surmounted by a cylindrical neck and flat lip, stopper, box. 7.4cm (2 7/8in) high. 鼻烟壺扁壺形，直頸，廣口，薄頸壁，橢圓形圈足，壺身呈圓角長方形，中央刻正向饕餮紋，上下蓮瓣及如意紋裝飾，底陰刻「乾隆年製」篆書款，帶粉紅色碧璽鑲珠蓋。
可參考一件約十八世紀晚期寶石藍玻璃獸面紋鼻烟壺，見《沐文堂收藏全集，卷十九：玻璃煙壺》，香港，2009年，頁141。另可比較紐約大都會博物館藏一件十八世紀晚期類似鼻煙壺，展覽於紐約大都會博物館，「Small Delights: Chinese Snuff Bottles」，紐約，2013年7月9日至2014年6月15日，館藏編號1971.117.3a,b。
