The present lot displays clear continuity with the form and fine workmanship of facetted bottle vases of the Yongzheng period. See a deep-cobalt-blue Yongzheng period example of the same height and having similar light coloured speckles on the interior, illustrated by The Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Elegance and Radiance: Grandeur in Qing Glass. The Andrew K.F. Lee Collection, Hong Kong, 2000, pl.16; see another related ruby red glass facetted bottle vase incised with a wheel-cut reign mark Qianlong nianzhi in regular script within a double square, illustrated ibid., pl.20.
