A RARE BLACK AND RED PAINTED GOLD-INLAID LACQUER BOX AND COVER
Western Han Dynasty
Of rectangular form with rounded corners, lacquered in black, gold-inlaid animals in flight amidst the cloud patterns painted in red and yellow lacquer on four sides and on the top, a silver plate in arrow form is missing with the space reserved and unlacquered, box. 8.5cm (3 3/8in) high.

木胎，盒呈長方形，直壁，平底。盒由套蓋與器身上下套合而成，通體髹黑漆，盒頂及盒外朱漆彩繪雲氣紋，飾有貼金動物穿梭于雲氣之間。器形可參考一件彩繪雲獸紋漆長方盒，見《千文萬華：中國歷代漆器藝術》，上海，2018年，頁56-57。
