A RARE PAIR OF BLACK AND RED PAINTED LACQUER 'EAR' CUPS

Warring States Period
Each of elliptical form, with deep rounded sides supported on a flat base, flanked by a pair of 'half-moon' shaped ears set at a low angle, the interior lacquered in red, the exterior, rim of the interior and exterior and the ears lacquered in black with red-painted stylised cloud patterns. Each 8.8cm (3 1/2in) long. (2).

木胎，杯呈橢圓形，弧腹，平底微凹。口沿外有對稱半月形耳，耳面微上翹。耳面、耳側及口沿外壁繪雲紋。器内以朱黑漆彩繪雲氣紋，器外通體髹黑漆。
