The name Yacht-Master was first trademarked by Rolex in the 60s but was not put into production until 1992 when the Ref:16628 was introduced. Seven years later Rolex released the 16622 in 'Rolesium'. 'Rolesium' referred to the use of both stainless steel and platinum and in the case of the 16622 denoted that the dial and bezel are both made of platinum. The evolution of the Yachtmaster continued in 2012 when the 16622 was replaced by the 116622 as represented with the current lot. Some of the notable changes were the graphite grey dial with blue text and the easy link extension system to the bracelet.
