Designed as a detachable pendant, set with a central detachable pear-shaped diamond, within a double row of round brilliant-cut diamonds to the marquise-cut diamond spacers, suspended from a three-row round brilliant-cut diamond highly flexible necklace; signed VCA NY, no. 55338; estimated weight of the central pear-shaped diamond 1.00 carat; estimated total remaining diamond weight 46.90 carats; mounted in platinum; length 17½ in.; may be worn as a choker 14½ in. or two bracelets 7¼ in. each

Ava Fries (1934-2021) is an icon within Beverly Hills; she was creative, ambitious, and glamorous. Alongside her husband, Charles Fries, "the Godfather of the television movie", Ava made her own grandiose impact. She wrote and produced the witty, adventurous, and now cult-classic film, Troop Beverly Hills, which was inspired by her personal experience as a Girl Scout troop leader.

As an incredible patron of the arts and a champion of education, Fries was dedicated to numerous charities and foundations that supported the growth of the arts, children, and the community. She served on the board of directors for numerous organizations, including but not limited to, the Los Angeles's Center Theater Group and People Assisting the Homeless, and was honored by the National Organization of Women for her contributions.
