Throughout the twentieth century, the Loehmann's franchise uniquely captured the entrepreneurial spirit and fashion-barrier-bashing ethos epitomized by 1920's America. From the very beginning, Loehmann's was a retail oasis where savvy fashionistas could purchase the designer samples and end-of-season surplus garments from the world's most exclusive designers at deeply discounted and accessible prices. Loehmann's became more than a store; it was a place to socialize, a place to treasure-hunt, a place of discovery. At Loehmann's, a shopper with a keen eye was bound to find a hidden gem.

Originating under the stylistic eye of Frieda Mueller and husband, Charles Loehmann in 1920, Charlie Loehmann their son, worked alongside his mother to become the CEO, and successfully built upon the ground-breaking Loehmann's business model and steered the development of stores throughout the country. Through his years of business success, he was inspired and continuously supported by his wife Anita Torres Loehmann, who he had met while delivering a dress from Loehmann's to her. Anita was an extremely impressive woman who served as a savvy advisor for the Loehmann's business.

With her own glamorous style, Anita T. Loehmann was a chic woman with an eye for beauty. Often socializing in both New York and Palm Beach society, Anita attended balls and fundraisers dressed impeccably in designer gowns from Loehmann's Back Room collection, accented by statements of sensational jewelry from her international collection.
