GORSUCH PRESENTATION COPY TO RUTH BADER GINSBURG.

GORSUCH, NEIL. A Republic, If You Can Keep It. New York: Crown Forum, 2019.
Hardcover, dust jacket.

FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED TO JUSTICE GINSBURG BY JUSTICE GORSUCH: "For Ruth, with admiration and affection, Neil."
Neil Gorsuch tells a charming story about how Ruth Bader Ginsburg welcomed him to the Supreme Court in 2017. 25 years earlier, when Gorsuch was a clerk to retiring Justice Byron White, he was tasked with creating a "clerk's manual," a set of notes to guide the law clerks in their duties. White wanted to pass this notebook on to his successor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, thinking it would be helpful to her. In his first week on the Supreme Court, Gorsuch found a large binder in his inbox—the most recent version of his original manual—with a note from Ginsburg reading "You may recognize some of this. I hope I've improved it a little bit since you've last seen it."
