Hardcover, dust jacket.
FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY STEVENS, WITH AUTOGRAPH ANNOTATIONS BY GINSBURG TO 3 PAGES. In her inimitable way, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has made minor corrections to Stevens's memoir, even after it was published. Ginsburg (or possibly an assistant) has also flagged her appearances with green tabs. Five Chiefs is Stevens' memoir of the five Chief Justices of the Supreme Court he worked with or under: Fred Vinson (for whose court he served as a law clerk); Earl Warren (before whom he argued); and Burger, Rehnquist and Roberts (on whose courts he served as Associate Justice).
