O'CONNOR, SANDRA DAY; and ALAN DAY. Lazy B: Growing up on a Cattle Ranch in the American Southwest. New York: Random House, 2001. Hardcover, dust jacket.
FINE PRESENTATION COPY FROM O'CONNOR, INSCRIBED: "For Ruth and Marty, With respect and affection of your cowgirl friend. Sandra 2/02." Lazy B is a memoir co-written with O'Connor's younger brother Alan Day recalling their early years on a ranch and the important life lessons they both learned in the harsh Arizona landscape. The Lazy B Ranch was homesteaded by O'Conner's grandfather in the 1880s when it was part of the New Mexico Territory. The New York Times Book Review called the memoir "a loving but clear-eyed portrait of a distinctive and vanished American way of life."
