7 volumes of bound published opinions of Ginsburg as Justice of the Supreme Court, all inscribed to her by the October term Clerks of the Supreme Court for each year, bound as collections of opinions separated by year, from 1993 through 2000 (lacking 1999). Hardcover, mostly black cloth, but 1996 in tan cloth, some with red lettering pieces on spines.
Every October, when the Supreme Court begins its annual session, a new crop of October Term clerks are selected, usually from among law school graduates who have been clerking for judges on the federal bench. A Supreme Court clerkship is one of the most sought-after positions in the law profession, usually guaranteeing mid-six figure signing bonuses at top law firms, and serving as an indicator that those chosen few have the potential to be future federal judges or Supreme Court justices. Six of the nine current Supreme Court justices served as October Term clerks.
