MACKINNON PRESENTATION COPY TO RUTH BADER GINSBURG.

MACKINNON, CATHARINE A. Only Words. Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press, 1993.
Hardcover, dust jacket.

PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED IN THE YEAR OF PUBLICATION TO RUTH BADER GINSBURG: "For Ruth Ginsburg, Whose words are never 'only words,' in recognition of all you have done for all women, and with pride in the way you represent us. Catharine A. MacKinnnon."

Catharine MacKinnon is a pioneering legal scholar and teacher focusing on sexual abuse and women's rights. In the 1980s she advocated for the consideration of sexual harassment and discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and was one of the earliest legal minds to tie them to title IX. In 2014, she was awarded the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Lifetime Achievement award, honoring "an individual who has had a distinguished career of teaching, service, and scholarship for at least 20 years. The recipient should be someone who has impacted women, the legal community, the academy, and the issues that affect women through mentoring, writing, speaking, activism, and by providing opportunities to others." An important association.
