Duncan Cameron spent the late summer and autumn of 1886 painting in the Braes o' Lorn between Loch Awe and Loch Etive. Therefore, this painting is possibly "Harvest on the Braes o' Lorn" or "Ben Cruachan from the head of Loch Etive", which were among the four paintings exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1887.
