A good late 18th century French ormolu and marble figural mantel clock

Robin, Paris
Two doves preening atop the clock, with a lute and olive vines on the left of the dial, and a Centurion helmet and snake on the right, the central marble column with inlaid ormolu wheat sheaves, with floral cherubs on either side, above patterned banding, the whole supported by a shaped black marble base with inlaid ormolu arrows, cherubs, and lion heads, on shaped feet. The Arabic enamel dial with intertwining floral hands, signed on the dial Robin à Paris. The two-train movement with silk suspension, flat bottom circular plates and outside count wheel striking on a bell, with a winding key. 39cms (15ins) high
