A good late 19th century French ormolu figural mantel timepiece
The back plate stamped LS 5 03
Surmounted by a small cherub finial with pen and pad seated on ribbons with arrows either side, above the enamel dial set on a woven basket pedestal, with floral and carnation flags to either side, a Centurion cherub loading a kinetic cannon with free-wheeling wheels, set on a mounted plinth on button feet. The Roman enamel dial with elaborately pieced gilt hands, the single train movement with jewelled cylinder platform escapement, stamped LS 5 03. Ticking with a double ended winding key. 29cm (11 in)
