A rare Meissen 'Cris de Paris' figure of the milk and egg seller, circa 1755

Modelled by Peter Reinicke, wearing a green bodice, yellow apron and white skirt embellished with indianische Blumen, balancing a jug on her head and holding a basket with eggs on her left arm, the base moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork and applied with leaves and flowers, 16.2cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to the rear of the base, impressed 11 (restored)
