A Meissen figure of a gentleman and his pug dog, circa 1745

Modelled by J.J. Kaendler or F. Eberlein, the man seated with his legs crossed on a rocky base wearing a gilt-edged white tunic, puce breeches and a black cloak, the pug seated on its hindlegs with a red collar and bow, the base with patches of green and applied with leaves and flowers, 12.5cm high, (some restoration)
