A Meissen figure of a snuff-taker, circa 1745

Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, wearing a wide-brimmed black hat, pale-yellow waistcoat, white breeches and black shoes with red rosettes, taking snuff from an octagonal snuff-box and standing before a tree-stump on a shaped oval mound base applied with leaves and flowers, 19cm high, traces of crossed swords mark in blue (restoration to his right shoulder)
