A Meissen part service, circa 1735-40

Each piece moulded with basketwork rims and painted with the 'koreanischer Löwe or 'Ch'i-lin' pattern of a winged dragon facing a beetle by flowering plants and a crane in flight overhead, comprising: twelve plates (approx. 23cm), two circular dishes (29.5cm and 34.2cm), one circular tureen and cover and two cutlery handles fitted with later gilt-metal knife blades (the handles 7cm), the tureen and cover: 25cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, various impressed Dreher's marks and two plates with impressed numerals, the dishes incised 2 and 3, respectively, the larger dish impressed 22, (the dishes each with a rim chip, some stacking wear) (18)
