Modelled by Giuseppe Gricci, dancing arm in arm, the gentleman wearing a pale-yellow waistcoat and black breeches with gilt details, his companion wearing a gilt-lined purple bonnet, pale-blue bodice, white skirt edged with a blue and iron-red pattern and yellow shoes, on a rockwork base with tree-stump support at the rear, 21.8cm high (her right arm restuck)

One of several groups identified by Angela Caròla-Perrotti as probably based on engravings after Watteau's paintings, it was likely based on 'Embarkation for Cythera' or 'The Pleasures of the Ball'. Another example is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (accession no. 1982.450.1).
