The Geneva version, translated by William Whittingham, Anthony Gilby, Thomas Sampson, and others. Including the Apocrypha, Book of Common Prayer, and the Concordances, it is of a type commonly known as the "Breeches Bible", first appearing in 1579, the name deriving from the translation in Genesis 3:7, "...they sewed figge tree leaves together, and made themselves breeches".
