A rare white jade 'coin'
19th century
Carved with a Spanish silver 8-real coin, the front with the inscription DEI.GRATIA. 1806. CAROLUS.IIII enclosing a bust, the reverse with the arms of Spain, the stone of even pale tone.
5.7cm (2 1/4in) diam.

Compare with a very close white jade coin, 19th century, which was sold at Christie's London on 8th November 2011, lot 170.
白玉質，質地厚潤細膩，雕作西班牙1806年Carolus四世銀元形，一面為淺浮雕Carolus四世頭像，一面為王室徽章，極為逼真，充滿異趣。
