Large "Ribbon Pattern" Black Opal
Lightning Ridge, New South Wales, Australia
Of free-form triangular outline, this large black opal originates from the premier opal mining area of Australia. The impressive size would ideally allow it to be mounted as a pendant. However, whichever orientation, horizontal or vertical, one can view the extensive red play-of-color in patterns of red ribbons, intermingled with blue, orange, green with touches of yellow and orange. Weighing approximately 46.43 carats and measuring 43.64 x 26.63 x 5.74mm
