Floral Pattern Multi-color Black Opal
Lightning Ridge, New South Wales, Australia
This fine, classic oval cabochon possesses a floral pattern play-of-color with full spectral hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and electric purple. The opal is what in the gem trade is termed a "nobby", meaning that it was formed inside of a nodule of clay and the resulting color is more vibrant and "present" than that of seam opals which tend to be slightly muted. An excellent ring stone or suitable for mounting as a pendant and a classic opal with its pinfire and floral pattern. Weighing approximately 11.75 carats and measuring 20.72 x 13.40 x 6.62mm
