The present Classique Complication 3450 is a great symbol of the legacy from Abraham-Louis Breguet. The "tourbillon", Breguet's most famous invention patented in 1801, was designed to compensate for rate errors resulting from gravity effect on the balance wheel. The tourbillon solves the problem by constantly rotating the whole escapement to average the positional error. Its complexity has made it one of the most sought after complications found on watches today.

In addition to the tourbillon, the dial was decorated by guilloché. Breguet used to use different guilloché patterns to distinguish different functions. And through the transparent case back, an delicately engraved movement plate is revealed. The solid piece of 18k white gold was engraved by experienced hands. The watch makes a wonderful example of centuries old craftsmanship and mechanical mastery.
